Mission StatementThe purpose of the University of Denver Alpine Club (DUAC) is to make outdoor adventure available to all University of Denver students, regardless of ability and/or previous outdoor experience. Through outdoor adventures, the DUAC acts as a gateway for learning about leadership skills, community, and the environment. DUAC is also a mechanism by which skills can be obtained in all areas of the outdoors, adventure, safety, guiding, or simply living and playing outside.
Facets of DUACUnlike other clubs on the DU campus, the Alpine Club offers trips in multiple facets of the outdoor industry. We rock climb, mountain bike, ski, snowboard, ice climb, horseback ride, dog sled, backpack, snowshoe, and white water raft. Our annual trip lists are always dynamic and changing because of our ability to offer a variety of outdoor adventures.
We also fund trips that make once-in-a-lifetime experiences incredibly affordable for a college student. We offer most trips at a fraction of the cost of what it would cost for you to do that on your own. Finally, the Alpine Club offers on-campus events including film premiers, speakers working in the outdoor industry, clinics, and contests. To put it simply, we provide it all, for all levels, at the best price possible. We also follow all university safety and risk management guidelines to ensure the safest experience for all students, advised by the Division of Athletics & Recreation and its professional full-time staff. |
